Interview Project Update

Students came home two weeks ago with Part 2 & 3 of their oral language project.  Mme Ireland stapled all sheets together (interview sheet responses and the new phrasing sheet).  Please keep them attached and keep them in a safe spot.

For the past two weeks, we have been reviewing the phrases in class. Please continue to practice them at home leading up to presentations.  It is important that students "fill in" their phrasing sheet in order to practice what they want to say in their presentation.

Students have also seen three Teacher sample projects that they might consider preparing (video/booklet and Google Slides Artefact walk). They are all posted in Google Classroom for you to view. Creating a poster is also an option.  Now that we have moved online, we will have to figure out the best way for students to present their project. More to come on that in the coming days.

Thanks for helping your child conduct their family interview. It was fascinating hearing all the different information.  What stories! What history!

Online Learning

Please check your School Messenger email for current updates and information about the next two weeks of on-line learning and check out Google Classroom for important info as well.  I will be suspending the BLOG until we return to in person learning.

Science

Students finished up their pas un carton project and created a cute video.  They also have been exploring the construction of other structures and used tarps and ropes to make a shelter outside. Next, they use tin foil to sculpt a creation of their choosing and finally, students are working on their own "Galimoto" project at home. Bravo les amis!

Potpourri

May 5  - Hats on for Mental Health
Students wore their  "best" hats on Wednesday, showing support for
mental health and wellness. Throughout the week, students
engaged in a variety of lessons and activities that supported their wellness
while drawing attention to our positive self-talk.  Students also began the first leg of our "Amazing Race" Challenge and completed an important road block.  They created a "fascinator" hat and visited Admin, waving like the Queen of England. We will get our next clue on Monday.

Sound Kreations Dance Residency
We finished up our dance residency this week with instructor A.J. and students had a blast learning their hip hop moves. A.J. spoke french with the students and had such positive energy and "swagger"! Merci AJ!
