Edition # 8, le 9 - 13 novembre 2020
Le coin français
This week we finished up the last of the long consonants and played several games to strengthen our understanding. Mme Ireland also showed students a flip book for reading syllables. Students are invited to create a similar "flip book" at home.
Le jour du souvenir
The importance and significance of Remembrance Day was very much at the forefront of our thinking this week and in the weeks leading up to our virtual assembly on Tuesday. Students showed incredible respect throughout the ceremony and proudly wore their poppies. Our deepest gratitude goes out to those who served and are serving in the Canadian Forces. Je me souviens is a motto that we hold deep in our hearts. Our learning centered around many rich conversations, supported through various read aloud stories below. We even created our own book about peace based on the Wallace Edwards book. Students enjoyed creating art work and sharing what peace is to them. Les mathématiques
Students explored different ways to count this week through a math problem about poppies. We worked on the first solution together. Ask your child to show you a different solution and how they counted?
