Le coin français
This week, students wrote about their favourite foods in their journals and worked on their oral responses for our March project. They also enjoyed many stories and songs focused on foods. Check out Google Classroom for a few of our favourites.
Les mathématiques
Students are exploring open math problems where they can generate multiple solutions. Here are some examples of two math problems they tackled this week. Ask your child to share one of their solutions for each problem and to explain their thinking.
Etudes Sociales
We grew our understanding of "community" this week by looking at Calgary Landmarks. This expands on our learning about neighbourhood landmarks. Students then used "loose parts" to re-create a landmark of their choice.
Education Physique
It is March Madness and the Tuscany Squad has been busy practicing their skills. Look out Raptors! This crew is looking good!
Science
Students explored the concepts of opaque, translucide and transparent through comparison. They then made predictions based on their learning and shared their thinking with peers. Students are invited to bring in three items from home that represent these three concepts. We will use these items for a Venn Diagram comparison exercise. Items can be brought in on Monday, March 8th and will be returned on Thursday.

Next week is Parent Teacher Conferences. Please remember to sign up for a meeting with Mme Ireland either, March 11th or March 12.
